2009 San Diego Indie Festival Volunteer/Intern Agreement
This application confirms your agreement to participate as a Volunteer/Intern for the 2009 San Diego Indie Fest. As you will be a volunteer/intern at the Festival, you will not be paid for any volunteer/intern services, nor are you entitled to any health benefits, life insurance, workers’ compensation, or any other benefits usually associated with employment.
The application sets forth the entire understanding between you and the San Diego Indie Fest. By submitting this application, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to the following:
- You will attend all mandatory trainings and other events listed on the Volunteer/Intern Assignment
- You are expected to complete the shifts set forth in your pre-assigned schedule and will not arrive late or leave early or you will forfeit your pass into the festival.
- While Volunteers/Interns may attend festival events that fall outside of the assigned schedule, volunteer assignments have first priority and you should not expect to attend festival events during your assigned schedule.
- Volunteers/Interns must return any equipment used during the course of the Festival in good working condition.
- Volunteers/Interns must contact the Volunteer Coordinator immediately with any concerns or problems encountered with Festival attendees or Festival organizers/employees.
- In appreciation of your volunteer services, San Diego Indie Festival will provide you with a Volunteer t-shirt and a Volunteer wristband which allows you admission to the festival.
- If you fail to comply with the agreements set forth above, you will not be eligible to receive the volunteer appreciation items, your wristband will be revoked and you may not be allowed to continue to volunteer at the Festival.
I understand and agree to the rules set forth above. I understand and agree that my participation is as a volunteer/intern only and that I do not expect to receive compensation or benefits. I also understand and agree that I assume any and all risks that may arise out of my participation as a volunteer/intern for San Diego Indie Fest. I therefore release San Diego Indie Fest, its officials, organizers and volunteers of any and all liability that may arise out of or in connection with my participation in the Festival, including but not limited to potential claims for any damages, costs, attorneys fees or other legal relief of any kind. I further understand and agree to indemnify and hold San Diego Indie Fest harmless from any such claims or legal actions arising out of or relating to my participation as a volunteer/intern for the Festival.
